Terms
Terms of Service
These terms are a working draft. They will be reviewed by counsel before launch. Subject to change. By using Mortgage Lens you agree to the version currently posted.
1. What we are and aren't
Mortgage Lens is a software product that produces analytical reports based on documents and inputs you provide. Our service is educational and analytical in nature: we read disclosures you already have, we compute math on those disclosures, and we write plain-English explanations and questions you can take into your own conversations.
Mortgage Lens is not a licensed mortgage broker, mortgage loan originator, loan officer, or mortgage advisor in any state. We do not facilitate, originate, broker, or negotiate mortgage transactions. We do not contact lenders or financial institutions on your behalf, do not communicate with parties to your transaction, and do not participate in your loan transaction in any way.
We are also not your attorney, your financial advisor, your real estate professional, or your tax preparer. Reports are information for your decision-making and are not legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. For individualized guidance on a specific mortgage transaction, consult a HUD-approved housing counselor (free; find one at consumerfinance.gov/find-a-housing-counselor), a licensed mortgage broker in your state, or an attorney.
2. Your account
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing a product you authorize the listed charge. Pricing is in USD and may change for future purchases; existing purchases are at the price you paid.
4. Refunds and the money-back guarantee
If we cannot produce a confident report on your inputs (extraction failure, missing critical data, edge-case loan we don't handle), we will refund automatically and email you with the reason. If you received a report and are dissatisfied, email support@mortgagelens.ai and we will refund without dispute. We may ask why so we can improve.
5. Acceptable use
You will not upload documents you do not have the right to upload. You will not attempt to circumvent entitlement checks, run our analytical modules at scale without permission, or use Mortgage Lens to harass any third party.
6. Data ownership and use
You own the documents and inputs you provide. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to deliver the products you've purchased. We will not sell your data, share it with lenders, or use it for advertising. Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be used to improve the product and produce industry reports.
7. Retention and deletion
Default report retention is seven years from the date the report was generated, consistent with mortgage-industry record-retention norms. After seven years, reports, inputs, and PDFs are automatically purged. Watchlist entries you have not paused or unsubscribed remain active indefinitely.
You may request deletion of any individual report or your entire account at any time. Per-report deletion is immediate; account deletion is processed within 30 days and cascades to backups. We retain only the minimum financial records required for tax and regulatory compliance (Stripe purchase IDs and dollar amounts), stripped of personally identifying information. See the privacy policy for full mechanics.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The product is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the product is limited to the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or incidental damages.
9. No professional relationship
Use of Mortgage Lens does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, financial-advisor, or broker-client relationship. For specific legal, tax, or financial questions about your situation, consult a licensed professional.
10. Report immutability
Each report is generated against the analyzer version active at the time of analysis. The version is stamped into the PDF footer and recorded on the report row. We do not retroactively edit or regenerate past reports when we improve the analyzer. If you want updated analysis at current rates or under a newer analyzer build, you can run a fresh report from the pricing page or via the watchlist re-run link in your email. The original report remains intact as a record of what was produced at the time.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or present security/abuse risk. You may terminate your account at any time; data retention is governed by our privacy policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of [TBD, to be set before launch]. Disputes will be resolved in those courts.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email to active customers.
